1. Tell us about your experience with blockchain technology. What projects have you worked on?
Highlight specific blockchain projects, technologies used (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.), and your direct contributions.
2. Explain the difference between public and private blockchains. When would you use each?
Describe immutability, transparency, permissioning, and provide real-world use case examples for both.
3. What programming languages are you most proficient in, and which do you prefer for blockchain development?
Mention Solidity, Go, Rust, or JavaScript with concrete experience; explain why your preferred language suits blockchain work.
4. Walk us through how consensus mechanisms work. What are the trade-offs between Proof of Work and Proof of Stake?
Cover energy efficiency, security, scalability, and finality; show understanding of recent mechanisms like PoS variants.
5. Describe your experience with smart contract development. Have you deployed contracts to mainnet?
Detail testing frameworks (Truffle, Hardhat), gas optimization, security audits, and lessons from mainnet deployments.
6. How do you approach smart contract security? What vulnerabilities have you encountered or prevented?
Discuss reentrancy, overflow/underflow, access control; mention code review practices and security testing tools.
7. Explain the concept of gas in Ethereum. How do you optimize contract code for gas efficiency?
Cover gas mechanics, transaction costs, refactoring strategies, and tools for profiling; show understanding of trade-offs.
8. Tell us about your experience with blockchain APIs and node infrastructure. Have you worked with Web3 libraries?
Mention Web3.js, ethers.js, or equivalent; discuss RPC calls, node providers (Infura, Alchemy), and integration patterns.
9. How would you design and implement a DeFi protocol from scratch? Walk through your architectural decisions.
Address tokenomics, liquidity, smart contract structure, testing strategy, and security considerations in your design.
10. Describe a complex blockchain problem you solved. What was your debugging approach?
Show problem-solving methodology, use of monitoring/logging tools, root cause analysis, and how you verified the fix.
11. How do you stay current with blockchain development? Which emerging technologies or standards are you tracking?
Mention layer-2 solutions, cross-chain bridges, token standards (ERC-721, ERC-1155), or protocol upgrades you're following.
12. Design a scalable blockchain solution for [specific use case: supply chain, payments, etc.]. How would you handle throughput and latency?
